About the Business

Rhyl Judo Club was founded over 60 years ago and is the longest running martial arts club in Rhyl, North Wales. Judo is a full contact martial art and sport with throws, pins, joint locks, chokes, grappling and groundwork all involved. Judo was started in Japan in 1882 by Professor Jigorō Kanō where it was called Kanō Jujutsu. Over the years it was developed and refined and renamed Judo, becoming one of the most popular martial arts in the world and an Olympic sport in 1964. You can find aspects of Judo in many modern self-defence practices.
