About the Business
Zetsurin Leeds is open to any one interested in learning a new sport, getting fit, learning self defence or who has ambitions of being the next karate kid. As a sport karate can help to develop strength, fitness , flexibility and spirit whilst at the same time increasing confidence and an awareness of self-defence.

Karate means “empty hand” and its origins can be traced back to China, though the island of Okinawa is often regarded as its birthplace.

The style of karate practiced by our club is Shukokai, which means “the way for all”, and was introduced to England in 1968 by Japanese Senseis Tani and Kimura. Though sadly, both Senseis are now no longer with us, their legacy remains as strong as ever, with Shukokai continuing to be well recognised and regarded.

As a new member, you become part of the Zetsurin family and as such will be supported by your Senseis and fellow students as you embark on your karate journey.
