About the Business

We are a traditional karate club (Shotokan school) based in Luton, Bedfordshire, England. We are affiliated to the International Association of Shotokan Karate (IASK) headed by Sensei Nicholas Adamou 9th DAN (one of Kanazawa Kancho's most senior and respected students). The club is run by Sensei Iain Tyrie 6th Dan (IASK), assisted by Lorna Tyrie 1st Dan (Also Paul Foster 1st Kyu, Nivan Hammond 1st Kyu). Also guest teaching occasionally at the St. Christopher's dojo is Sensei Jerry Moore 4th Dan.

Sensei Steve Marriot 4th Dan (SKIIF) also regularily attends the Warden Hill dojo and helps with teaching. Saturday mornings 10am to 11.30am at Warden Hill Community Association Hall, Wycombe Way, Luton, LU3 2 BW (situated behind the Warden Tavern on the A6, New Bedford Road). Adults and children (over 6 years of age) are welcome to train. Classes are child friendly but still teach traditional shotokan following a lineage from Kancho Hirakazu Kanazawa.
